Brandon's Scrapghan

I used a "Q" hook. Basically I used 2 yarns held together and chained 85 then skipped 5 chains and in the next stitch did *2 dc 1 ch 2 dc then skipped 3 ch and repeated * to the end except I only had 1 chain at the end so I did a dc, ch 3 and turn. The next row I did the 2 dc 1ch 2dc in the chain space of the previous row all the way across and ended with a dc in the top of 3rd ch of the turning chain. I continued this until it was as long as I wanted it to be. This is a little more open then I would have liked but it went fast. It is also a bit wider than I actually wanted so next time I might do 15 or so less chains

Changes for childrens hats. Plus Eyes for Jack the Pumpkin king &
Yellow Sponge plus nose

Use a I hook for grownups and and H hook for kids hats
Yellow Sponge nose is worked like this

Nose:
Work in rounds. Ch 6, work 5 rounds then increase one or two, work another 5 rounds, sc 2tog all stitches and tie the rest together.

His
eyes are just circles made as big as you want. I used a french knot for the pupils, I just wrapped the yarn around the needle 3 or 4 times.

Eyes:

Do not join rounds. Leave Long Tails For Sewing!!
Rnd 1: Ch 2, (do not count as first sc from now on) 6dc in the 2nd ch from hook. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st. (12 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc in 1 st, 2 sc in next st repeat around. (18 sts)
Rnd 4: Sc in 2 sts, 2 sc in next st repeat around. (24 sts)
Slipstitch in next stitch and fasten off.
for larger eyes continue in this manner until they are the size you want.
Sew everything in place.
Kids hats work the same as the grown up pattern up to and including round 4 thenRnd 5: Ch 2, *dc in 7 dc, 2 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. [54 dc]
(If you feel the hat needs to be larger around just add more rounds here by adding another sc each row. for instance Round 6 would be ch 2 *dc in **8 dc, 2 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around. Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. The next row would be **9 then **10 and so on.)

Rnd 6-13: Ch 2, dc in each dc around. Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. [54 dc]
(If you need or want it to be longer just continue round 6 as many times as needed.)
Rnd 14: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with a slipstitch in top of first sc. Fasten off.

The mouth of the Pumpkin king is just a long loose stitch tacked down with smaller stitches. His nose is just two small stitchs.

GOOD LUCK! Let me know if you try this and how it turns out.
